DIY Face Masks



Face masks and facials. Who doesn't love them? But my weekly spa visits have, sadly, ended. Memorizing Daddy's credit card number (who didn't do that in high school?) won't help me now. He rudely changed the Amex number. Left to my own devices, I needed to learn some DIY face treatments. Here are a few of my favs:

1.) Face mask for ALL skin types
This mask will clean out pores and leave your skin super soft.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup oatmeal
1 egg
1/2 banana
1 tablespoon raw honey
Cook the oatmeal and add in the egg (yolk only!) mix. Now mash up your banana and mix into the oatmeal and egg, finally add in the tablespoon of raw honey.

2.) Revitalizing face mask
Supple and radiant skin? Yes, please.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup cherries
1/4 cup pineapple
1/2 cup blueberries
4 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup plain yogurt
Mash up and blend all of the ingredients together. Try to resist the urge to eat them - or just eat them to get it out of your system and start over! Coat a thick layer over your entire face and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse and enjoy your glowing skin.

3.) Oily skin no more mask.
If you have oily skin this mask will zap it immediately.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup plain oatmeal
1 egg
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup apple
Remove the egg yolk and only use the egg white. Mix all of the ingredients to create a paste. Apply all over your face and let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes. Rinse and enjoy soft, not greasy, skin.
If you're lazy or don't have many ingredients available, this one is also a great acne fighter.
Ingredients:
1 egg, yup, that's all you need.
Remove the yolk from the egg. Pat the egg white onto your entire face. I know this sounds kinda icky, but it works. Firmer, acne free skin is now yours. This mask is also great if you suffer from redness or inflammation.

4.) Blueberry Mask
This mask is brightening and gently exfoliating.
Ingredients:
1/3 cup blueberries
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon raw honey
After thoroughly mashing and mixing the ingredients, apply evenly to your face and leave the mask on for 5 minutes. Remove with a damp wash cloth.

5.) Face scrub
Winter weather = scaly skin. Buff off your face to reveal a fresh complexion.
I have two options for ingredients depending on what you have available.

Ingredients:
You can either use
3 strawberries and 1 tablespoon of honey
or
1 kiwi and 1 tablespoon of honey

Mix your ingredients from either option you chose. Massage the scrub all over your face for 30 to 90 seconds. Rinse and done!

Now go to the grocery store and start mixing your masks!
