Alexandre Herchcovitch FW13

Saturday at Milk Studios, Alexandre Herchcovitch presented his FW13 collection and the results were swoon-worthy. Glossy, sumptuous fabrics, beautifully ladylike silhouettes that bring to mind Downton Abbey or even Versailles-era elegance, patterns that make you say things like "are those the curtains" but in a strangely good way, and just the right amount of distressed elements that make you feel like you just caught a young Catherine Medici or Princess Sophie Charlotte of Germany after a tryst. It was eighteenth century glamour updated with modern edge - the way you'd want to embrace romantic opulence today.
