Beauty Secrets Revealed Volume XIII - Beauty Myths Edition

You should ONLY listen to me when it comes to beauty tips. Fine, that may sound a bit bossy and rude, but there are too many people trying to fill your head with lies! I share all of my beauty secrets with you, now it's time to share some of the worse myths out there.

1.) Wearing Makeup Causes Acne

This is just not true. If you feel more confident with makeup on, feel free to wear it. What will cause acne is not the makeup itself, it's using dirty makeup brushes and not washing your makeup off everyday. If you regularly clean you makeup brushes, and toss old sponges you will be okay. You also can't stop removing your makeup and washing your face at the end of the day. If you already have acne or breakouts, switch to an oil free foundation.

2.) Using A Foundation A Few Shades Darker Than Your Skin Tone Will Make You Look Tan

Umm... no, it won't. It will only make you look like you are wearing the wrong makeup. Invest in a bronzer and wear it on top of the correct foundation color.

3.) Pump Your Mascara Wand For More Product

Please stop doing this! It doesn't give you more mascara, it just dries out the tube. Plus, you should be replacing your mascara every three months. If you're needing to pump the wand, you have probably had it for more than three months, and it's time to toss it and get a new one.

4.) Split Ends Can Be Repaired

This may be the most upsetting myth, sadly it's not true. Split ends means the bottom of the hair shaft has split in half. Certain products will hold the two pieces together, and mask the look of split ends, but won't actually undo the damage. I'm not saying don't use these products, they can definitely help your split ends from getting worse.

5.) Regular Trims Makes Your Hair Grow Faster

Actually, it doesn't Your hair growth cycle isn't sped up from trimming your ends. This doesn't mean regular trims aren't important! Trimming the ends of hair will snip off your split ends and stop them from breaking off your hair.

Perfectly Glossed Kisses,

Sutton
