Shaving vs Waxing Myths

It's time, once and for all, to disprove the beauty myth about shaving and waxing! No, shaving your legs doesn't make your hair grow back thicker over time. And waxing doesn't make your hair grow back thinner and lighter over time. While shaving can appear to make your hair seem thicker and waxing can appear to make your hair thinner, over time it will not make a difference.

I apologize in advance for my poorly drawn pictures! Hair follicles are thicker at the base and thinner at the tip.

When you shave your legs, it cut off the hair follicle at the base, where it meets your skin. When the hair starts to grow back, the thickest part of the follicle grows out first.

When you wax your legs, it pulls out the entire follicle. When your hair grows back in, the tip of the hair grows out first, i.e. the thinnest, finest part of the follicle.

Perfectly Glossed Kisses,

Sutton
