Friday night celebrated Ukrainian fashion with the Elena V FW13 show. The collection centered around artful clashes of textures and patterns, reflected even in the background of the lovingly crafted rugs that hung in the museum space. The designs seemed to harken back to the old country, family traditions and uniquely artisanal elements, with patterns reminding you of quilts and tapestries. But there was no dowdiness found here - the patterns were reinvented into sharp, modern shapes with expert tailoring and attention to feminine silhouettes. Oh - and the hair. Sutton and I were dying over the hair and are currently looking into hiring the show's hair team to make a stop at our apartment every morning. I mean, look at these braids.
