Perfect Skin Made Easy

No offense, but your skin could look better, and mine looks basically perfect. Okay, fine, I can't actually see your skin and you can't see mine, but whatever, I stick by my statement. First, apply The Anti-Aging Face Primer all over your face. It's basically just a moisturizer (don't worry its very light; oil, fragrance and paraben-free) and a primer in one bottle. (Whether you wear blush, foundation, basically anything on your face I always recommend a primer.) It will keep you moisturized for 24 hours and it makes your skin totally smooth for the next step...

The Amazing Concealer. This does NOT go all over, you are not a mannequin. Use on under eye circles, redness (like right on the sides of your nose), dark spots or basically anywhere that is showing any skin damages. It's waterproof so it will not being going anywhere all day and you only need a PIN-SIZE DOT. Because you only need a tiny bit the bottle will last you forever. There are 10 different shades, so you can definitely find one to match your skin tone. One of my favorite things about this product is that while it will cover anything you don't want seen, it won't clog your pores and make you break out, plus it has cucumber extract, which is anti-puffing and smoothing.

Finally, I apply my Velvet Mineral Liquid. I tend to stay away from 'concealer' as I don't like to feel like I am wearing a second skin, but if I am going to be in pictures, I also don't want a shiny face. This product is amazing. It obviously conceals, but it's also hydrating and feeds your skin with minerals. It is SPF 15 (don't forget how crazy I am about SPF, no wrinkles for me!). The Mineral Liquid also comes in 10 shades.

What We're Wearing

I cannot emphasize enough how important eye cream is no matter your age or skin type. Today (and many other days) I am using clickR's Magic Eye Cream. Different eye creams work on different issues, dark circles, fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness, sensitive skin, etc. But let’s be honest... who only has ONE of those issues? This Magic eye cream is basically, well, magic because it works on all of those issues. With ingredients like diamond dust, mother of pearl, gold and silver minerals how could it not be amazing? And no, it is not as expensive as a piece of jewelry including all of the ingredients, it's $36.

The Beauty Report SS13

You know Sutton and I are sufficiently beauty-obsessed. But to pick the best beauty trends from NYFW SS13, we thought it would be fun to call in our friend, the beauty expert, Amy. Here's what she had to say:

Prabal Gurung

Shiny, center-parted hair: Check.

Glowing, ethereal skin: Check.

Nail tips dripping in blood: Check.

At Prabal Gurung the devil was definitely in the details (and by details I mean the nails). Makeup and hair were almost angelic; the models' faces were slightly mattified and gently contoured while their hair was left loose and natural. Nails, however, revealed their dark side - the tips painted oxblood red (Angelbite, courtesy of Sally Hansen) to mimic the look of fingers dipped in blood.

This is what I wished I looked like in the '90s and want to look like now – glamorous '90s supermodel grunge-ified. The rag & bone girl is slightly androgynous and totally gorgeous. What I love most about this look is that it’s full of juxtapositions: Raw, clean skin (evened out with a touch of BB cream and flush of light pink on the cheeks), highlights (naturally), razor-sharp cheekbones, and defined brows that play against subtly shaded lips moisturized with nipple cream (yes, nipple cream, courtesy of Dr. Lipp). Her hair is strong - gelled and slicked back in the front but left to hang in loose, dry waves in the back. Easy, breezy and ready to kick some ass. My kinda girl.

Wes Gordon

Anyone who knows me, and I mean really knows me, knows that I refuse to brush my hair. I don’t own a brush. Or a comb. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve heard “Why don’t you just run a comb through your hair?” from family and friends. Lest you think I’m a total slob, I use a really good conditioner and finger comb in the shower. That’s it. Done. Then I pull it back or leave it down, detangling with my fingers as necessary.  This is exactly why I loved the hair at Wes Gordon. Tangled, semi-dreaded, piece-y perfection; definitely more bedhead than Deadhead, and made to look even chicer when paired with Wes’s effortlessly-elegant clothing. The makeup was just as easy; rosy lips were the only statement on an otherwise bare face. Totally undone yet totally done - a look I can definitely emulate. Sorry mom.
